A Town on Fire

A brief lull in the rain produced this...
...and then this...
...this, then...

finally, this…

It truly looked like the town was on fire!

I agree that sunset photos can be pretty boring — seen one, seen ’em all.  But some just beg to be shared anyway.  About five minutes after this last shot, the heavens opened again and it simply poured.  All pictures were just snapped in a hurry from our deck.  Isn’t Nature a wonder?

  1. I agree, I’ve seen many sunset photos and don’t need to see more… BUT, these are spectacular. This is not a sunset, it’s a conflagration. Looks like the end of the world.

  2. What an amazing sky! Sunsets are our reminders that we need to remember to look up once in awhile — as focused as so many people are with their jobs or home life, they might miss such beauty! I’m so glad you got to see it.

  3. Never, never boring! And yours are particularly beautiful. I am in awe every time I see such sunsets. Even the less dramatic ones are so wonderful.

  4. Personally, I never get tired of looking at sunsets…since I don’t usually see sun-RISES, I figure I’ll balance it out by enjoying sunSETs on a regular basis–mine and others.

We need more rain, though we had about an inch here in the Bay on Friday night. I’m getting alarmed at how dry some areas are.

  5. Oh I agree with you. I took some a couple months ago that floored me like this too because it did look like fire. And then last night we had an amazing sunset after a heavy rain and thunderstorm. I have posted those yet, but here are the ones from a couple months ago. I’m so glad you took these ones — they’re amazing!
