The Sea is a Beautiful, Sinuous Thing

At anchor -- Chester, NS

“I smile o’er the wrinkled blue
Lo! the sea is fair,
Smooth as the flow of a maiden’s hair;

Back Harbour - Chester, NS

And the welkin’s light shines through
Into mid-sea caverns of beryl hue,

A gull looks seaward - Chester, NS

And the little waves laugh and the mermaids sing,
And the sea is a beautiful, sinuous thing! …”

  1. You’ve done it again Nancy – the perfect verse to match the incredible images. Do you have an anthology of poems at the ready for your wonderful shots? That first one ‘At anchor’ is glorious

  2. gosh, I honestly can’t remember reading those beautiful, poetic words of hers before. They draw me in as the tides ebb and flow. What a beautiful phrase. Thank you for these comforting words. I hope you are doing well.
