Beauty Amidst the Clutter

Spring Bouquet by Raymond A. Foss

An earthen vase
held a bouquet
simple crocuses
at the street corner
in the downtown
of the city, around
the corner, down the block
on the way to school
a bit of color
shining through
the urban tableau
reminding us of beauty
amidst the clutter
of daily life

  1. I love this post. Hugs!
I’ve just recently discovered this poet, Janie and like his writing a lot. He gets to the soul of things directly. :) Happy Easter to you and yours!

  2. Perfect sentiment, Nancy. Happy Easter/spring to you and Charlie and of course the perfect grandson. I bet it was lovely in Windsor today. Here, fog, fog, fog.
It was gorgeous here today, jodi — got up to about 22-23C. Perfect summer time temps for me. My Mom said it was foggy and cool all day in Walton, too. About 9C. “They say” we could hit 25C tomorrow. Plenty warm for moi…especially for cooking ham dinner. :) Happy Easter to you and “cousin” Lowell. Heehee!

  3. Hey Nancy we are all in this impossible heat wave together and when better than this weekend ? LOL
I am a sucker for white flowers .. especially white roses.
The poem suits very well : )
Happy Easter girl .. and my friend that lives there in Windsor too ! will most likely be kayaking with this warm weather !

  4. aloha nancy,

i enjoyed reading the poem first and then looking up to your photograph, it was inspirational…i do love these types of interpretive works with words!
