Here Comes the Sun

“Forsythia blooms come and go in the blink of a yellow eye,
Then, suddenly, mysteriously, green erupts; and we sigh.”

–   Michael P. Garofalo, Cuttings

Unfortunately, there’s not much sun to be had here in Nova Scotia today, and we may even see a bit of snow this afternoon, but the sunny yellow of these forsythias, forced into bloom (thanks, Jodi!), will help appease the gloom outside.

  1. I think the forsythia out back may burst into bloom by next week, but I am not holding my breath. We had snow this morning, and the noon temperature was only 32 degrees.

The contrast in that shot between the stem and blossom color is nice.
