“Forsythia blooms come and go in the blink of a yellow eye,
Then, suddenly, mysteriously, green erupts; and we sigh.”
– Michael P. Garofalo, Cuttings
Unfortunately, there’s not much sun to be had here in Nova Scotia today, and we may even see a bit of snow this afternoon, but the sunny yellow of these forsythias, forced into bloom (thanks, Jodi!), will help appease the gloom outside.
So lovely, Nancy. My forced forsythia are still going strong! Happy weekend (we’re off to the lake … yea)!
There are forsythia buds in my son’s yard, and I’m off to the Boston Flower Show, but snow is lightly falling out of the sky. Surely it won’t last.
It is amazing how a fresh bloom in the house can chase any kind of weather outside away! Enjoy the last bit of winter before the spring rush begins! Kim
Hope the sun peeks out for you today. We are to go up to 70 by the end of next week. Have a great weekend.

I think the forsythia out back may burst into bloom by next week, but I am not holding my breath. We had snow this morning, and the noon temperature was only 32 degrees.
The contrast in that shot between the stem and blossom color is nice.
