The Cats Have It Right

Welcome back, Blotanical! :-)  It’s a good thing we were busy (insanely so) with moving or I might have gone through a serious withdrawal.  It’s good to see all your familiar faces again — and a sincere thanks to those who continued to visit and comment while Blotanical was down.

The past week was spent moving things from the second floor to the first — the worst kind of move, in my opinion, as one thinks they don’t have to pack anything.  I mean, you’re only going down two flights of steps.  Ah-huh.  Well, we’re mostly landed, although far from settled in just yet.  We hope to make a big dent in that ugly process this weekend.

To add to that misery (really, is there anything worse than moving?), we were bombarded by heavy snowfall and high winds this week.  It was pretty enough while it was falling, but has now turned to plowed piles of nasty February brown.  Bah!

I think the cats have the right idea.  Once they got used to the new surroundings (it took poor Toby much longer than my daughter’s kitty), they’ve been content to lay in what feeble sun strays in through the window and snooze without a care, as if they knew that spring were just round the corner.

  1. Congrats on the move! Do you live in an apartment, Nancy? I should probably know that, huh? Just wondering because of moving from one floor to another and the change for your kitties.

HI KYLEE! YES, WE MOVED FROM THE SECOND FLOOR TO THE FIRST AS WE JUST TOOK ON THE JOB OF SUPERINTENDENTS OF OUR 24-UNIT BUILDING. A CHALLENGE, FOR SURE, BUT WE’RE (MOSTLY) LOOKING FORWARD TO IT, AND THE FINANCIAL BENEFITS ARE A WELCOME SHOT IN THE ARM. :)

  2. Hi Nancy,
I hope you soon get settled in, and that your snowy weather gives way to spring. We have forsythia bushes blooming and weeping willows bursting forth with their minuscule pale green leaves. The kitty is beautiful. :)

  3. Moving basically sucks. Toby and the other kitty have the right idea, I agree. Good luck with settling in! Do you have wine? That always helps, imho. !!!

  4. Hi nancy…I’m back. I forgot that you were moving. A tough job no matter how far you move. Hope things are getting more settled and the cats are happy.

  5. I forgot you were moving, too. I’m thinking you are going to get to landscape the property as you see fit. That was you saying that, wasn’t it?

I can identify with your thinking moving from one floor to the next would be easier than it was. The slogan of the company remodeling our kitchen says, “When you want a brand new kitchen, there’s nothing to it…” Well, even though we aren’t doing any of the remodeling, there is something to getting the kitchen ready. I am worn out, and ready to get out in the garden.

I appreciate and welcome your comments!
