Wordless Wednesday – Hyacinth

“If of thy mortal goods thou art bereft,
And of thy meager store
Two loaves alone to thee are left,
Sell one, and with the dole
Buy hyacinths to feed thy soul.”

  1. Oh! The light through the blossoms is divine – heavenly! I, too, can almost smell its sweet breath, this lovely hyacinth. Boy, did I ever need an image such as this on our cold, rainy, gray, blustery wintery day – thanks, dearie!

  2. Nancy girl … that was PERFECT ! I can almost catch the scent way over here .. it must be wonderful to have a little Spring surrounding that wonderful flower in your apartment !

  3. I totally agree with that sentiment. I have eight hyacinths in bloom in the house right now, and the entire house is awash in fragrance and colour. No white, but I do have hot pink, salmon, delft blue and one yellow one!

  4. Luminous is a good word to describe your white hyacinth Nancy. It’s beautiful and your photo equally so. Why don’t I ever think to buy white?? You’re making me wonder…. I just pulled my two bulbs out of refrigeration and now I can’t remember what color they are? Crazy, huh? I’m sure not white tho. I hope they are as pretty as yours. Have a great weekend!
