Foiled Again!

verbenaA streak of golden sunlight filtered in my living room —
Yay! said I, as melted butter chased away the gloom.
Finally, I thought with joy, we’ll have a sunny day!
Until a charcoal cloud rolled in and snatched the sun away.

  1. Sigh. How miserable! But who could resist your verse, and of course that photo of the gorgeous peach-flowered verbena safe from the frost!

  2. Lovely verse Nancy. This has been a very gloomy month. We had a beautiful sunny day yesterday, for the first time in well over a week. Today we’re back to the clouds, with clouds and rain forecsat for the rest of the week. This has been the gloomiest October I can remember – looks and feels more like November. Yesterday was glorious, though fleeting.

  3. I am tickled pink when I see your signature and have gotten it correct that you are the author. So sorry it’s gloomy but your verbena is a pretty one. That’s a hard variety to grow in our hot humid South.
