Ocean Ties

“We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch —  we are going back from whence we came…” – John F. Kennedy

  1. How lovely, Nancy!

This was taken in the picturesque village of Chester on Nova Scotia’s south shore. It’s just about my favourite place in the world, about an hour’s drive from where I live now. :)

  2. Wonderful!… It is so nice to have a place nearby where we can go, from time to time to get relaxation, inspiration and…. you help me – what else!

  3. I love the quote…is this place one that you see often? So quiet…look how still the water.

It’s one of my very favourite places and I try to visit several times a summer. It bustles with activity in the summer when the head count goes from a few hundred permanent residents to a few thousand who summer there. You can’t imagine some of the boats…everything from huge yachts to tiny sail boats. This link: http://www.chesterns.com/ will take you to their web site…the slide show in the header photos is worth a watch…you’ll see some of the beautiful real estate and boats in it. :)

  4. Beautiful! I am always drawn to the sea when we vacation, perhaps because we live in a land-locked area. Nothing quite as soothing as listening to the waves wash in.
