Though we are not yet officially married, Charlie and I had an anniversary of a first meeting yesterday and he walked through the door last night with a dozen, long-stemmed, red roses. Yes, he’s a keeper. Aren’t they beautiful? And they smell as wonderful as they look.
The vase, by the way, is one of my favourites (below) and is a perfect size for such a bouquet. It is Tara bone china which my ex-sister-in-law carried home in her luggage, all the way from Galway, Ireland. She’s a keeper, too!
As for the yellow which delights me, these little yellow tomato seedlings thrill me to bits! When I planted them the first time, they sprouted faster than I had anticipated, and I was too slow taking their little “hothouse” cover off…they got moldy. These ones, however, are doing just fine — it’s so amazing how they strain toward the light. In a day or two, I’ll thin them and then transplant a few of the hardier ones into separate pots.

I agree–Charlie is a keeper! The roses look beautiful in that lovely vase. And congratulations, too, on the tomato plants. My seed starting has not been as successful as I’d hoped, but some of them look promising.
Oh that vase is divine! Yes, you’ve got a keeper. Hold on to him tight (I know that won’t be hard to do).

You are very blessed. I would be a sister is I could. You are going to like my front porch when you see it soon. I’m just recovering the cushions and making the pots to go with it all. It is so busy this time of year
