The sight of these tiny green shoots on a rose bush just off my balcony set my heart all aflutter! I have nothing in my garden containers that’s in bloom just yet, though I do have one, lonely sunflower seed that has sprouted unceremoniously in one empty pot. I never fail to be inspired by their tenacity.

I agree…we’ve had such lovely warm days recently (not today, though!) – I’ve been outside luxuriating in being outside with the new buds and signs of life….without the company of blackflies or mosquitoes yet! Last night, I sat at the duck pond until dusk, listening, watching. What joy.

Strange as it may seem, I like visualizing a single sunflower sprouting in a pot. I have a one and only grandchild — seven year old boy — and I agree with you 100% about it being the perfect love. Your little guy is very handsome.
