Bright Blue Promise

When you realize how perfect everything is, you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky.” – Buddha

Here’s hoping these beautiful clouds and blue sky will push that grey out of the way and deliver a nice weekend.   My daughter and her little family are planning a trip home from New Brunswick, if the weather holds.  While I can’t wait to see them all, I’d never want them out on slippery winter roads, so we shall see what the weather gods toss our way.

We got off fairly lightly yesterday with only a few inches of snow, much of which has disappeared already as the temperature rose.

  1. The sky look much better there today, Nancy. I hope the weather stays fair enough for your daughter and family to travel safely.
We’re still getting light snow showers here and the winds are strong and blustery.
I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Hi Kerri — not long after I took those photos, we had a really heavy snow squall. It just goes to show, you never now what Mother Nature has up her sleeve! Here’s hoping for good travel weather. :)

  2. What beautiful skies you’ve captured! I hope the weather holds for your daughter and her family! We’re under a winter storm watch for tonight!

We escaped this storm with less damage than originally forecast, though the driving would have been miserable at times last evening. I’m hoping the weather holds, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what it is like in the morning, the time the kids would head out. I hope you don’t get too big a blast!

  3. I’m happy to see you have blue skies today! You must be anxious for spring?

Hi Shirley — yes, anxious, but content to wait. :) I dislike hot, humid weather even more than the snow, so I just take every season, one day at a time. They pass quickly enough without wishing them away, I guess.

  4. Beautiful quote, and beautiful skies Nancy. I love your header!

I hope the weather cooperates with your weekend plans. We’re expecting 4-6″ of snow tonight and tomorrow morning.

Thanks, Linda — I’ve adopted a wait-and-see attitude about the weekend. It’s less disappointing that way. I’m glad you like the header…more springlike than the other, I think. :)

  5. Beautiful blue skies! Have a nice weekend Nancy!

Thanks, Racquel — those skies have lost a bit of their “dazzle” over the past couple of hours and we’ve had some snow squalls. Nothing too serious. Enjoy your weekend, too!

  6. You’ve had a snowy winter Nancy! At least it seems that way from visiting your blog. It’s time for a break, right? and especially for traveling. Enjoy your visit ~ that’s always fun and I hope spring comes soon for you.

    Thanks, Kathleen! Keeping fingers crossed.

  7. Oh what a beautiful day, Nancy ~ love those puffy white clouds! Here’s wishing you that wonderful weekend with family. Had hoped to leave for the lake today but under a winter storm alert!

It is a pretty beautiful day here right now — I hope you don’t get too much of a storm!

  8. I hope it looks just like this for you all weekend–happy travels to your little ones. Even though our kids are grown they are still little ones aren’t they!?

My older “little one” turns 30 next month! Eeek! When did THAT happen? But yes, they will always be my little ones, and now Nolan keeps the cycle going. :)

  9. Nancy:
I hope that Mother Nature finds better humor as she heads your way…. it was bitter cold and heavy snow squalls all day for much of Central Ontario. I do have to say that once she got it out of her system, we too had wonderfully sunny and clear skies….. I hope she is exhausted when she makes it to your neck of the woods and gives only blue skies and sunshine!
