Christmas Is A State of Mind

“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind.

To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy,

is to have the real spirit of Christmas.” – Calvin Coolidge

A storm that has already dumped on many of you Canadian Blotanists is bearing down on Nova Scotia tonight.  Some areas of the Maritimes can expect up to 40cms of snow with possible hurricane force winds.  And it’s very cold, so it should be a miserable night and morning.

We spent a Christmasy afternoon doing a Santa run to my parents.  Charlie has a rotten cold, so we didn’t stay long so as to not expose the folks to the bugs, but it was nice to see their tree and share a cup of tea.  This evening, it’s more gift wrapping, hoping to finish up.  Tomorrow, if we maintain power, will be spent doing some baking and the last of the regular cleaning.  Then, Christmas may come. :)

  1. LOL…I’m with you Christmas is not allowed to come till the cookin’ and cleanin’ are done.

I’ve got most of the cleaning done, the gifts wrapped (exept the one my hubby invariably gets last minute, sigh) and am going to start the baking as soon as I’m done reading everyone’s blogs…priorities afterall, lol!

Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas, Kim
