A Doorway

“To me, the garden is a doorway to other worlds; one of them,
of course, is the world of birds.  The garden is their dinner table,
bursting with bugs and worms and succulent berries.”

  1. Aw, what a sweet little bird. Goldfinch? There here as well wearing their new winter feathers. Winter is good for bird watchers as we can now see them much better without the greenery. Time to go change the bird feeder…

  2. We enjoy birdwatching so much at our place in the Pacific Northwest, also.

We are having what is unusually cold weather for us: -10 degrees Celsius, with strong winds. I am sorry for the birds and other little creatures at times like this.

  3. What a beautiful picture! Now that’s what winter should be like. Here in my corner of New Hampshire we’ve been without electricity since Thursday night. I’m hoping today we’ll have it back. In the meantime We’ve spent three nights in the bone chilling apartment and two nights in a hotel, with two more nights booked. I hope we won’t need them. I’m actually eager to get back to work. This is our busiest time of the year and being down for four days is going to really hurt us.

So, keep your fingers crossed that this is the last day!
