What a Difference

What a difference a week makes!  This was the (somewhat narrow) view from my bedroom/office window about a week ago.  Taken at sunset on an otherwise grey day, the sun made an appearance just long enough to set the top of the trees aglow.

This is the same tree taken (through a rain-dappled window) this morning.  It’s a very windy, rainy day and those last leaves that so stubbornly cling to their branches will probably be gone by nightfall.  That is the nature of Autumn, I guess.

  1. We’ve yet another day of snow flurries. The last of our leaves (actually they belong to the neighbors) cling stubbornly to the trees, but it’s all over except the singing. Your photos are great! I’m always too slow with the camera. By the time I get back to the house, find the camera, and get ready to shoot the sun is gone and we are back to gray.

  2. There is such fleeting beauty in autumn (replaced, of course, by different types of beauty.) You’ve captured it so well in both of these photos. The intense gray of the sky in that first photo is stunning. I just love it!

  3. Wow! That was fast! We are only now beginning to see some true autumnal colors here in north Alabama. I feel your pain!
