Every Sky Has Its Beauty

“For the man sound in body and serene of mind there is no such thing as bad weather; every sky has its beauty, and storms which whip the blood do but make it pulse more vigorously.”

  1. I must be sound in body and serene of mind because I love a good storm. Some have scared the bejesus (whatever that is) outta me but I love them nonetheless. I’m with George. AND I LOVE this photo, Nancy. Did you take it?

  2. Hi Debi! Yes, this is one of my photos…it was taken in Hall’s Harbour, an extraordinarily beautiful little village on the western shore of NS. I thought the gloomy sky was perfect for the day. :) I love a good storm, too. Good thing!

  3. Hi Gail! Yes, so far it’s just a bit breezy with some cooling showers. But Hanna isn’t expected until late tonight/early tomorrow. I think she’ll mind her manners. :)

  4. Awesome storm picture Nancy. Black & white makes it look even more menacing. Hanna has been blowing & raining here all day. No major problems.

  5. An ominous-looking sky. But somehow storms have always soothed me. I don’t mean tornadoes or anything. But I remember the storms of my childhood being pleasant memories I still carry today when the clouds gather overhead and the sky becomes overcast.

  6. I just love black and white photos, and the one you’ve shown is wonderful. After Gustav has passed through, it is easier to look at stormy pictures. They are dramatic.

    Always Growing

  7. Beautiful picture Nancy. It reminds me of where I live. I will have to remember this quote when the winter rains become relentless over here which will be before long now.

Hope the TS passes by smoothly for you.

  8. Nancy – just been looking at what you said in the Blotanical Forum. Thought you might like to know that your feed’s back in there.

  9. Happily, Hanna wasn’t much more than a big puff of wind and a couple hours of torrential rain. I haven’t heard of any damage locally, though I suspect there might have been some minor flooding in some areas. We were lucky. :)
