Where The Hell is Matt?

“To dance is to be out of yourself.
Larger, more beautiful, more powerful.
This is power, it is glory on earth and it is yours for the taking.”
– Agnes De Mille

My morning was a bit dark and gloomy — in the metaphorical sense of the term — until I watched a portion of this video on a Breakfast TV show. It’s guaranteed to brighten your day and bring a smile…and possibly a tear or two. What an amazing young man. I urge you to watch this short video, and then click on the graphic above and read his story.

  1. Nancy, Isn’t he inspiring! My husband and I have been watching Matt’s travels and dancing for quite some time. The joy is infectious!

  2. He truly is inspiring — there are so many messages in this small video. Aside from his own personal accomplishments, it really illustrates that we, as inhabitants of this planet, are far more alike than we are different. :) It has made my day, and I tucked it into my sidebar.

  3. To travel all over the world would be wonderful! But the dancing speaks far louder than words–I love the parts where he is dancing with children or the tribesmen in New Guinea. Maybe our world leaders should dance together instead of talking so much:)

  4. This reminds me of a story. I won’t take the time to tell it here but will choose my blog and I’ll link to you Nancy cause it has inspired a topic for me. Matt’s message is simple and I think more young people carry it than the older generation.

I saw my dad’s face when he came back from WW2. I wasn’t born then but the results followed him the rest of his life. He never wanted any of his children to see that horror of war. I hope our young people can get a grip on leading our country, do it smartly, and get along. I understand that peace is not the same peace to everyone. It’s such a shame cause it could be—simply–it could be a wonderful beautiful dance.

  5. I have seen this before – but it is nice to see Matt again – garden girl has hot the nail on the head when she says The joy is infectious – my feelings exactly.

  6. .
Unlike standard Multiculturalism dogma which says we should celebrate our cultural differences, Matt and his dancing videos illustrate what instead we should celebrate at least just as much if not more, our similarities, what we as humans of all cultures share in common.

Tears of joy! Incredible video. Dance everybody, dance! Matt is cool, it’s good to see that he’s still out there cruising around. Leave him a comment about his evil dancing. LOL! I’m sure he’ll appreciate it. Great job Matt! Stay safe out there! Keep dancing!
    absurd thought –
    God of the Universe says
    outlaw ALL dancing

    moving bodies to music
    must be seen as evil

    absurd thought –
    God of the Universe says
    rock and roll is evil

    it’s the devil’s best music
and dancing to it is sin

    absurd thought –
    God of the Universe says
    only Earthlings may dance

    it is simply forbidden
    elsewhere in the Universe
