Just a quick posting to show the progress of the Bailey’s nasturtiums. Though the leaves are small and the stems rather spindly, they still continue to grow and form new leaves. Only one of the four or five seeds actually germinated, so far, and the soil inside the bottle is still very wet. I may not have to water again all summer! But it’s fun to watch its progress.

  1. Nancy, your poems and pictures of late were wonderful. You always have such good ones. I love that the litle nasturtium is still growing. Even in conditions that are not optimal. Maybe we should all take a lesson. Grow and bloom where you are planted!

  2. Navigation request: I really wanted to find the beginning of this story and I couldn’t do it. Can you tell me how? (Didn’t get anywhere with “links to this post”. Well, that’s not entirely true; I got the geranium photo and poem, and now I’m going to go look for some more.

Beautiful blog, in so many senses of the word.

  3. About half the nasturtium seeds I planted did not germinate. I wonder it was a bad batch this year. The ones that did are growing well. No flowers on them yet though. The plant in the bottle will be interesting(-:
