The light was so extraordinary this morning for a few brief moments that I grabbed the camera and snapped some shots from my bedroom window (where my desk and computer are located). The sky was dark and brooding to the east…and yet illuminated the first green-gold foliage of a stand of poplars to the south.
The neighbours’ yard also displayed that first chartreuse green of spring, as well as a handsome forsythia in full bloom.
Dandelions and a rather scraggly forsythia competed for yellow showmanship at the edge of the apartment property.
On the balcony, geraniums — just potted — are doing well and showing hints of the color to come. This pot contains salmon, magenta, and flame red plants.
Since I took the bird feeder down, this poor neglected rose bush — the finches’ favorite perch — has lost those brilliant splashes of lemon yellow feathers, but has set forth lovely, green leaves.
That was my view from a window early this morning, shot through [somewhat dirty] glass — what did your morning vista look like?

I just got back from a quick trip to Halifax and Sackville (NB) where I enjoyed the forsythia, daffodils, pussy willows and dandilions. I even saw a lovely pair of finches, the male bright yellow! So much yellow. You finally have spring.

I was taking pictures early this morning too, from my dining room, of the hills and fog across the valley :) “Room With a View” is one of my very favourite movies :)

It was very gray, dark clouds and a bit of rain…I did run down to the garden to take one more photo of the Ox-Eye Daisy during the rain shower. Then just like that, the storm passed over and it was sunny….

The beautiful morning was not lost on you, Nancy. How wonderful! I’m blessed to be at the cottage this weekend. We are 2 weeks behind here from down state so I get to enjoy 2 springs! Trillium and shadblows line the forest floors, a breathtaking sight. Sunset last night was awesome as was the break of day. The lake is glistening like diamonds and the loons are yodeling. All is well in my ‘room with a view’.
What a beautiful view! I have so many pictures waiting for me to post it’s crazy. I just don’t want to bog everyone down having a gazillion posts in one day. Thanks for sharing with us.
I love skies that are foreboding! And it always anazes me that one area can be so dark you turn slightly ans the sun is out in cloudless blue.

Nancy, I love when the sky is like that. Dark on one side and sunny and light on the other. One of my favorite lights is late in the day just before a summer thunder storm when everything goes greenish.
What a lovely way to start a day. The new spring green of emerging leaves is one of my favorite sights.
