  1. *Frances, Gail, Debbi — we spent the day with my parents today, celebrating my Dad’s 80th birthday. The sky was quite dull from late afternoon onward, and I was disappointed I may not get any decent photos, but we hit this spot at just the right time, just as the sun had slid below the horizon. The frogs had just started their evensong and the water of Three Mile Brook was like glass. Just lucky timing. :)

  2. It looks like a magical place. I love the way the tree branches are hanging down just enough so we have to peak through, hoping for a glimpse of what’s on the other side of the lake.

  3. You “see” things, I’m convinced, that the rest of us uninspired folks just don’t “see.” Every time you post a photo like this, I ask myself, why didn’t I think of something half as good as that?

  4. I think my blog post went into the void, but if I double posted, forgive…

I just wanted to say, Nancy, that the photo is wonderful and I mean full of wonder.

You made me smile through and through.

  5. Nancy, Tolkien uses English with such mastery. Your photo is masterful as well and perfectly compliments the quote. It was like breathing a deep, relaxing sigh to visit here today. Thank you.

  6. My camera refuses to do what your camera does. What do you feed yours? I offer chocolates to mine. I offer to limit its responsibility to flowers in daylight. Still it refuses to cooperate. Maybe I should have listened to my mother.
