Go Green!

St. Patrick’s Day is with us,
The day when all that’s seen
To right and left and everywhere
Is green, green, green!

And Irish tunes they whistle
And Irish songs they sing,
To-day each Irish lad walks out
As proud as any king.

I’ll wear a four-leaf shamrock
In my coat, the glad day through,
For my father and mother are Irish
And I am Irish too!

  1. “May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.”

    Erin go bragh!

  2. Happy St. Paddy’s to you also, Nancy. What a lovely surprise visiting your creative blog. We have many similar interests … please tell me if Quoyle (THE SHIPPING NEWS)lived anywhere near you??? I dream of visiting, loving the book. Great grandchild photo & quote … I agree ;)

  3. Joey — The Shipping News was filmed in Newfoundland and it, like its neighbor, Nova Scotia, is breathtakingly beautiful. The scenery is similar, though Newfoundland is a bit more rugged. :)

  4. Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Nancy

May you always have walls for the winds,
a roof for the rain, tea beside the fire,
laughter to cheer you, those you love near you,
and all your heart might desire.

  5. OK, so I wore green this year on the 17th… because I was laid up and missed St. David’s Day on the 1st.

    ;-)

  6. Happy St. Pat’s Day, Nancy. Your beautiful and perky post with the shamrock made me smile — they are such unique plants and I love them. (Except those wild weedy ones that want to take over my beds!!!)
