Eyes Wide Open

nolan_bug“Every child is born a naturalist. His eyes are, by nature,
open to the glories of the stars, the beauty of the flowers,
and the mystery of life.”

  1. Nancy, I so believe this quote to be true! …and those sweet little boy hands learning from grandmother to gently hold creatures.

He’s a sweet, gentle little soul anyway — and he *likes* creepy crawly things. :) Much more than his Gramma, I’m afraid. His Mom and Dad have taught him well. They have a beautiful property, a perfect habitat for many creatures. Thanks for taking the time to comment, Gail.

  2. Sounds like your summer is just about perfect, Nancy!

I have little to complain about, Joey. :)

  3. Nancy…Those sweet baby hands with the dimples. Enjoy him…they grow so fast. I love seeing his pictures in your sidebar.

  4. I agree. The funny thing is, my eyes didn’t open to nature until I was an adult! I was a product of the concrete jungle, and believe it or not, was not attracted to gardens until I was an adult.

    I like your photo.

  5. Beautiful quote to go with such a sweet photo. They remind me of my toddler. She is so naturally curious about everything- especially what happens around her outside. She has definitely become Mommy’s little helper in my garden! Even carries around Mommy’s trowel.

  6. That’s a perfect quotation. I also believe it to be true. Your photo is perfect. I can well imagine your delight! My daughter tells me her son (now 6 years old) has been enjoying a nature day-camp all week! (I’m thrilled!) :-)

  7. How cute, Nancy. And how apt, too. Kids remind us how far we get sometimes from our own curiosity, I think.

  8. Lovely, lovely image and quote Nancy.
